Among those highlighted for their struggles are Punjab Kings’ Shashank Singh and Delhi Capitals’ Karun Nair, both of whom faced significant criticism after spilled catches directly impacted the outcomes of their respective matches. However, the latest spotlight has fallen on Mumbai Indians all-rounder Naman Dhir, whose fielding campaign has become a point of concern for his franchise.
The Dharamshala Incident
During match number 58 of IPL 2026, held at the picturesque Dharamshala stadium between Punjab Kings and Mumbai Indians, Naman Dhir’s season hit a new low. Jasprit Bumrah, leading the Mumbai side, won the toss and elected to field. This is not the first time fielding errors have cost the Mumbai Indians dearly this season. Earlier in the tournament, during a nail-biting finish against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru in Raipur, a communication breakdown involving Tilak Varma and Naman Dhir proved costly.
