Having recovered from a calf injury in his left leg that saw him sidelined during the recent T20I series against Australia and the subsequent one-off Test, Das’s return provides a significant lift to the batting lineup.

The announcement comes at a crucial time for the team, as they look to build on the momentum gained from their recent success against Australia. The Zimbabwe tour, which follows the one-off Test in Harare, features three ODIs scheduled for July 6, 9, and 11, followed by a trio of T20I matches.

In addition to Das returning to the fold, the squad welcomes back captain Mehidy Hasan Miraz. The skipper had been forced to sit out the third ODI against Australia due to a concussion, and he was also rested from the Test side currently stationed in Zimbabwe. His return to leadership is expected to stabilize the team’s tactical approach during the high-pressure environment of the ODI series.

With the exception of Mahedi Hasan, who served as a late replacement for Mehidy in the final match against Australia, the selectors have opted for continuity.
