The foundation for this emphatic win was laid during the first innings, where Zimbabwe posted a formidable 410. The innings was anchored by a magnificent 140 from Kaia, supported brilliantly by Madhevere’s unbeaten 77. Despite Taijul Islam’s persistent efforts, which yielded 7 wickets for 138 runs, Zimbabwe managed to build a massive lead of 270 runs, effectively taking the game away from Bangladesh before they had even batted twice.
The Collapse of the Bangladesh Batting Order
Bangladesh, already under pressure after their dismal first-innings effort of 140, entered the third day hoping for a miraculous turnaround. However, the Zimbabwe bowling attack had other plans.
